“As Formula 1 operates at the forefront of automotive technology, we have a responsibility to ensure we are at the cutting edge of innovation in sustainable technologies,” Mercedes said in a statement.
As such, the team believes that their multi-million investment will significantly improve their overall environmental impact, as well as help them on their journey to becoming Net Zero.
Wolff also appreciates SAF’s investment, so the head of the Mercedes team “Totto Wolf” has expressed his supportfor this movement and admitted that sustainability is a topic that he often thinks about on a personal and professional level
“Sustainable Aviation Fuel has the potential to transform the way we travel and the impact that we have on the environment,” Wolff said.
“This is a topic I think about a lot personally and professionally.
“I fly a lot; the team flies a lot. If we have to fly, then we have to find a better way to do it and the SAF is the best solution available to the aviation industry right now.
“We aim to be at the forefront of change, using our global motorsport platform as a model for a more sustainable and diverse future.”
